Job Overview

We are seeking to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant / Controller for a Financial Service company based in .
Reporting to the CEO, in this role you will become a key member of the senior leadership team of this growing and innovative organisation. We are seeking an ambitious and driven individual who will be a significant contribution to the organisation in the years ahead.
Job Outline:

Lead, manage and direct activities for the Finance and Credit Control department
Preparation of all financial and management accounts, annual budgets and cash flow forecasts
Maintaining bank reconciliations, nominal ledger, investment ledger and accounts payable
Preparation of payroll and returns to Revenue Commissioners
Manage internal and external audits
Preparation of cost benefit analysis for all significant resource allocation
Oversee the weekly review of accounts on relevant arrears listing as carried out by delegated staff member.
Provision of necessary information and documentation to facilitate any legal process.
Court attendance where required.
Work with vendors in the maintenance of IT assets.
Ensure practices and compliance in all areas of finance and credit control are to the highest standard and consistent.


Requirements

A primary degree, preferably in business or finance and a fully qualified accountant. QFA qualification would be desirable
Established and proven experience and success over at least five years in a senior finance role.
A combination of personal and interpersonal skills including financial acumen, strategic thinking, service orientation, people orientation, persuasion and influencing, leadership and getting the Confidential results through people.
Financial and IT planning and strategy
Strategic planning and vision and a proven ability to drive change
Proficiency with accounting software, word processing, excellent knowledge of excel and spreadsheets

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality;
Ability to prioritise and manage tasks under pressure on an ongoing basis
Strong communication skills, excellent planning and organisational skills
Excellent drive, enthusiasm and commitment
Empathy with the ethos and values of the Credit Union is desirable.


Candidate requirements:

Qualified Accountant with ideally a primary degree in business or finance
Experience in a senior finance role.
Personal and interpersonal skills including financial acumen, strategic thinking, service orientation, people orientation, persuasion and influencing, leadership and getting the Confidential results through people.
Excellent drive, enthusiasm, and commitment.
